Baví mě míchat a rozpíjet barvy, kombinovat různé techniky, vymýšlet si nové a hlavně: řídit různé náhodné procesy. Před lety jsem vyrýval tvary do lina, tisknul a nesčetněkrát vybarvoval lazurami akvarelu. Časem jsem ale zatoužil po nějaké monumentálnější technice. Na grafické škole jsem viděl techniku „mramorování“, se kterou spolužáci restaurátoři napodobovali struktury mramoru na obalech starých knih plovoucí olejovou barvou. Začal jsem si hrát s touto technikou a zůstalo mi to dodnes. U této techniky mi vyhovuje množství variant práce s barvou, formáty, materiály a stálost olejových barev. Vyhovuje mi, že každý otisk z hladiny je překvapením, protože výsledek ovlivňuji jen částečně. Metoda je to rychlá, pracuje s koncentrací a zápalem. V těchto strukturách je málo z klasických malířských technik a námětů, rád se inspiruji nebem, vodou, dřevem, hlínou… mám rád detaily a pozorovnání plynutí v čase.
I enjoy mixing and blending colors, combining different techniques, inventing new ones, and most importantly: controlling various random processes. Years ago, I carved shapes into lino, printed them, and colored them countless times with watercolor glazes. Over time, however, I longed for a more monumental technique. At graphic design school, I saw the “marbling” technique, with which fellow restorers imitated the structures of marble on the covers of old books with floating oil paint. I started playing with this technique and it has stayed with me to this day. I like the many variations of working with color, formats, materials, and the stability of oil paints in this technique. I like that each print from the surface is a surprise, because I only partially influence the result. The method is fast, it works with concentration and passion. There are few classical painting techniques and themes in these structures, I like to be inspired by the sky, water, wood, clay… I like details and observing the passage of time.
